See our services. Why a second opinion
If you have received a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation and want another expert perspective, an independent second opinion gives you clarity and helps you understand the possible next steps.
A second opinion may help if
- You have a complex or rare condition.
- You are unsure about a diagnosis.
- You want another opinion before starting treatment.
- Your case may need input from several specialists.
- You want to explore other possible treatment options.
- You have been told that limited options are available.
In published research from leading US health systems, about two thirds of second opinions led to a change in the diagnosis or treatment plan.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost?
The introductory 15-minute consultation is free. The cost of a full review depends on your case and is discussed openly on that call, with no obligation.
Who reviews my case?
Your case is reviewed by an experienced specialist in the relevant field, drawn from MEDUNION's network of physicians in Israel, Europe, and the United States. Your coordinator tells you who will review your case before the review begins.
What records do I need?
Typically medical reports, imaging, laboratory results, and your current treatment plan. Share what you have. Your coordinator will help you gather anything that is missing.
Can you help arrange treatment abroad?
Yes. When a second opinion recommends further consultation, testing, or treatment, MEDUNION can help coordinate access to partner institutions in Israel and Germany, including Rambam Medical Center in Haifa and institutions associated with Charité, and accompany you through the process.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your records are shared through a secure channel, used only for your review, and never shared with anyone outside your case team without your consent.
Does this replace my doctor?
No. A second opinion informs the decisions you make together with your treating physician. It never replaces your treating physician or your ongoing care.
